Conservation & Biodiversity: Conservation Areas

What do we know about lakes in Maine’s conserved lands?

“Great Ponds” (lakes of 10 acres and larger) that occur in or near Maine’s “fee-owned” conservation areas are shown on this map. Click on any pin to link to the lake’s pages on LakesOfMaine.org. From here you can explore water quality data for this lake, as well as find information about the lake’s aquatic plants, fish and other fauna. The name(s) of the conservation parcel(s) are shown in the pop-up box for each lake.

The map has 4 “layers” - for northern, downeast, southern and western Maine. Open/close any layer by clicking on the check box.
